Well ain’t this a bit special…

"Agnes Jones is an art blacksmith who draws in steel to make linear pieces full of character. Translating pen drawings into steel, her work changes this very solid material into sculptures that look sketched in the air.

Life drawing has always been an interest, but in lockdown it grew into a central part of her practice - a mix of zoom classes and self portraits led to a series of figures that sparked a new direction to her work. This exhibition has found her exploring how to use line more sparingly and simply, leaving the viewer to fill in form on their own."

We are delighted to have been invited by Agnes to host a life drawing workshop at her exhibition this Spring at The Pipe Factory in Glasgow.

Join us to preview the beautiful exhibition then get to work creating some artwork of your own. Agnes's steel drawings will hopefully inspire you to pick up a length of wire and try your hand at sculpting a wire line drawing based on the live models who will be posing before you. You need no previous drawing experience to attend this session. There will be people on hand to assist if you need it. All welcome, as ever!

We'll have all the usual bits and bobs available: Basic drawing materials and boards to borrow, some wire for you to sculpt your own nudes with, sketchpads, great music as always and of course a bar, for your essential thirst quenching, art-inspiring needs.

The space is vast and so the number of tickets sold will dictate how many life models we will invite along to pose...
